500 guests attend the 14th Annual Women & Science Lecture and Luncheon—Scent and Behavior: An Evocative Relationship—held at The Rockefeller University on May 12, 2011. Leslie Vosshall, the Robin Chemers Neustein Professor in the Laboratory of Neurogenetics and Behavior, opened the event with an overview of the science of scent perception and an account of recent findings in the field of olfaction, including the wide variability in how different individuals experience the same aromas. Following the lecture, Dr. Vosshall was joined by world-renowned perfumer, Frédéric Malle, for a lively discussion on the science and art of fragrance.
